Cabinetry
Arched dining built-ins
Arched bookcases on a dining wall, with wainscot below and a chandelier between them.
Cabinetry · Millwork · Saunas
Cabinetry, millwork, and saunas for Long Island homes — drawn, built, and installed by James DiSclafani.
The shop
Drawn, built, and installed by the same person.
I design the piece, build it in my shop in Massapequa, and install it myself. Cabinetry and built-ins, fine carpentry and millwork, and custom saunas, for homes across Long Island.
The craft is traditional where tradition is the point: solid hardwood, fitted joinery, trim scribed to the wall it meets. The method is current where precision asks for it: a drawing you can read, reveals that stay tight, and a sauna detailed for heat and moisture.
Services
Kitchens, pantries, libraries, and the built-ins that finish a room. Inset doors, fitted drawers, and hardwood chosen for the house.

A live-edge slab with a resin inlay down the center, on hairpin legs. Photographed on a patio.
Process
A call or a note about the room, the house, and what you want from the piece. If the work is a fit, we set a time to look at it together.
I measure what is actually there, then draw the piece. Wood, hardware, and the way it meets the walls are decided before a board is cut.
The work is made in Massapequa. Joinery, fit, and finish happen at the bench, where the piece can be checked square in steady light.
I bring it to the house and install it myself. Scribing, hanging, and the last adjustments are done on site by the person who built it.
The maker
JPD Woodwork is a one-person shop. The person who answers the phone is the person who draws the work, builds it, and installs it.
The shop is in Massapequa. The work goes anywhere on Long Island. There is no handoff from a showroom to a crew you have not met.

Custom saunas
A sauna asks more of a building than a cabinet does. Benches at the right heights. A heater placed so the room warms evenly. Ventilation so the air stays kind. Wood that can live with moisture.
I design it, build it, and install it. Indoor rooms and outdoor saunas, for houses across Long Island.

FAQ
A few practical answers. The longer list is on the FAQ page.
The shop is in Massapequa. I take work across Long Island — Nassau County, Suffolk County, the North Fork, and the East End.
James DiSclafani. He designs it, builds it in his shop, and installs it. When you call JPD Woodwork, you are calling the person who will be in the house.
Send a note through the quote form, or call. A few photographs and the town are enough to begin. If it makes sense to go further, we look at the space and I draw the work before anything is built.
There is no rate card. Price follows the size of the piece, the wood, the hardware, and the condition of the room. You will see a number before any work begins. I do not publish a range, because a published range would be a guess.
It depends on the shop schedule and the scope. I will tell you a realistic window after I understand the work, and before you commit. I would rather name a date I can keep than promise a fast one.
A note is enough to start
Photographs, the town, and a plain description. I read every request myself.
